Sustainability a trend with new SSE incubator startups: “A clear driving force”
The entrepreneurs admitted into the SSE incubator programs
The Stockholm School of Economics is backing nine new companies through its Business Lab incubator, renowned for kick-starting many successful large businesses.
The list of new startups includes companies ranging from a digital solution for documenting maritime activities, to a new way to enable the sustainable home delivery of groceries.
The nine companies chosen had to impress an admissions committee of prominent leaders, including Lisa Lindström, Sebastian Knutsson and Mattias Miksche.
“It was an impressive breadth of companies, both among those who applied to the Activate program, and those who applied to Incubate,” Miksche said. “Everyone who got a yes was a team that we believe has great potential and we look forward to seeing the companies develop within the framework of SSE Business Lab.”
Six of the chosen companies will start in Activate, which is an eight-week acceleration program. The other three companies will start in Incubate, where they can participate for up to 18 months to develop their business ideas.
The SSE programs help with coaching, mentoring, workshops and access to a network of alumni and investors as well as first-class partners.
SSE Business Lab’s CEO, Julia Delin, said that sustainability is a clear trend with the startups in the incubator.
The nine companies include:
