Techarena Zero 2026 brought together leaders from business, investment, industry, technology, and sustainability in Kista for a day focused on one of the most urgent questions facing companies today: how to turn climate ambition into real action.

Hosted in one of Stockholm’s most important innovation districts, this year’s edition came at a time when dedicated meeting places for sustainability, climate, and impact are becoming increasingly difficult to sustain. In his opening remarks, Techarena CEO and Founder Omid Ekhlasi addressed the challenge directly.

“As a community and as an ecosystem, we need to step up, keep showing up, and take action,” he told the audience.

His message set the tone for the day. Techarena Zero was not only a platform for panels and networking, but a reminder that the transition requires more than targets. It requires long-term commitment from companies, investors, policymakers, and the wider ecosystem.

Themes on Stage

The opening panel, The State of the Transition to Zero, focused on the gap between climate goals and implementation. Speakers highlighted the need for predictable frameworks, long-term market signals, and the courage to stay committed to targets, even when they become difficult to reach.

\n\n\n\n

Another central theme was the growing connection between AI and energy. In Powering Intelligence: The AI-Energy Nexus, the programme explored how the rise of AI is reshaping the discussion around energy infrastructure, data centres, and sustainable growth.

\n\n\n\n

Circularity also took centre stage. The panel Circularity isn’t optional. It’s the New Competitive Edge challenged the idea that the circular economy is mainly about recycling. The discussion pointed instead to the bigger opportunity upstream: using less, using longer, reusing, repairing, remanufacturing, and rethinking business models before waste is created.

The climate tech session moved the conversation from ambition to scale. Leaders from Climeon, Cemvision, Corpower Ocean, and 4Impact VC discussed what companies need now: commercial adoption, customers, industrial partnerships, and more founders building solutions that can move from pilots to market.

Beyond the stage programme, attendees took part in structured networking and roundtables, including The Role of Technology in Sustainable Growth, hosted by Tieto Sweden, and Powering Sustainability through Partnership, hosted by Mastercard.

The day closed with a fireside chat with Alexandra Palt, former Chief Sustainability Officer at L’Oréal and President of WWF France. Her message was clear: sustainability cannot be communicated as something distant or abstract. It needs to be brought closer to people, business and everyday decisions.

Throughout the day, Kista was buzzing with energy, networking, and honest conversations. Techarena Zero may not be Techarena’s largest event, but this year’s edition made clear why it remains one of its most important.

As climate, AI, energy, and industrial transformation become increasingly connected, the need for focused meeting places is not disappearing. It is becoming more important.
