Top 24 finalists selected for the 10th edition of Techarenan Challenge

Techarenan is announcing the companies competing in the finals of Techarenan Challenge 2024, held during Almedalsveckan on June 26-27 in Visby, Gotland. Out of hundreds of applying companies from all over the Nordics, 24 finalists have been chosen covering a wide range of industries including energy, cleantech, fintech, foodtech, healthtech, and more.

The selected companies have all been evaluated by an expert jury, focusing largely on scalability, sustainability, and well-defined growth opportunities.

“This year’s lineup is one of the most powerful and diverse we’ve ever seen. It’s remarkable to witness how entrepreneurs from various sectors are changing their respective industries, setting new benchmarks, and positively impacting society. I’m eager to follow their progress in the years to come,” says Omid Ekhlasi, CEO & Founder of Techarenan.

Celebrating 10 years

This year marks the 10th annual edition of the competition. 

“It has been a privilege to meet driven entrepreneurs over the past decade and see how they have been a force in improving as well as creating positive change and new behaviors in our society today”, Ekhlasi continues.

In Almedalen, the finalist companies pitch in front of a jury consisting of well-known investors and entrepreneurs with broad knowledge of the Nordic tech and startup ecosystem. Seven companies move through to a final round of pitches held before a live audience and TV production on the Techarenan main stage. The finalists will compete for Startup Company of the Year, Growth Company of the Year, the Social Impact Award, the Audience Award, the Industrial Award, and the newly installed Dream Award.

Almedalen as a forum for startups and scaleups

All 24 finalists get an exclusive package that includes exhibition space at Techarenan in Almedalen, accommodation for the event days, tickets to the official Tech Mingle, and marketing in Techarenan’s channels. The award winners get an exhibition spot at The Tech Arena 2025.

Alongside the competition, Techarenan also arranges panel discussions and seminars on three different stages in Almedalen.

It provides an ideal venue for the finalists to showcase their products, expand their networks, find potential partners and customers, and connect with their peers and fellow finalists,” says Johannes Lundberg, Editor-in-chief at Techarenan and responsible for the stage program in Almedalen.

This is Techarenan Challenge:

An entrepreneurial competition open to all Swedish and Nordic entrepreneur-led companies in the startup and growth phase. The competition has been organized since 2014 and targets companies based on a unique innovation or business idea with the potential to be commercialized on the global market.

Wednesday, June 26: 

Jury Pitches on the Techarenan Challenge pitch stage (closed), (Full day).

Thursday, June 27: 

Finalist pitches on the Techarenan Main Stage (2.30-4.00 pm).

Winners announced at the official Tech Mingle in Almedalen at Kallis (7.00 pm).
